Vote for a spot in the Peachtree Road Race

The Peachtree Road Race is a tad over two months away. I'm sure everyone participating in it is currently knee-deep in training. Right? If you vied for a spot in the race and were one of the 2,000 turned away, you still have a chance to be tacked on. Hope you've been training, too! The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is offering those left out of the loop... [Read more...]
Fashion show fundraiser on April 29

One fun way to raise money for a cause is to hold a dinner and fashion show. Everyone loves to eat, and everyone loves to wear clothes. However, not everyone loves cancer. The Cancer Wars Support Organization is a non-profit that hosts such an event every year. The 4th annual Cancer Warriors Dinner & Fashion Show will take place at the Oak Hill Baptist... I got to be pretty good at the sport... until the range closed down. Alas, I never revisited... [Read more...]

And since Italian is my heritage, I am very picky about the food I find in restaurants that claim to be homemade-- because no place comes close to replicating my mother's cooking. So when I find an Italian establishment that meets or exceeds my expectations, it's worth raving about to others. Pasta Max Cafe is one... [Read more...]
Cottle Strawberry Farm of Stockbridge ripe to open for public picking this weekend

The strawberry is probably my favorite fruit, ever. And of course it would be-- at their best, strawberries have a short season and are one of the more expensive fruits compared to, say, bananas. Strawberries are also one of the highest pesticide-ridden fruits out there. Yum, but yuck. One way to grab berries cheaply, with low pesticide hazards or without... [Read more...]
