As the 4th of July approaches, it is important to put safety first when using fireworks.  Residents who live in Southwinds Stockbridge will be prepared to enjoy the holiday safely by following these tips.

First and foremost, when using fireworks you must always use common sense.  If it does not seem safe then do not attempt it.  The number one common sense rule is to never use fireworks inside.  Make sure all spectators are a safe distance away from the person who is detonating the fireworks, and the detonator should be wearing safety glasses.

Always keep water nearby; a bucket of water will suffice.  Nobody wants to think a catastrophe will happen, but it is best to be prepared in case one does happen.  If you encounter a firework that does not work, do not attempt to relight it, wait for 20 minutes and then let it soak in a bucket of water.Never alter fireworks or use illegal or homemade fireworks.  Fireworks can be fun if used correctly, don’t ruin your holiday by taking risks. What are your plans for the 4th of July?
