There’s been talk that the Atlanta Spirit ownership is looking to sell the Thrashers and the Hawks. Now, I’m not the world’s biggest hockey fan, but I do love basketball. So yeah, that’s a great move, seeing as we’ve been doing better in basketball than we have in years. And let’s not forget that we have the third best record in the Eastern Conference right now. But yeah, let’s kick them out and have thousands of irate Hawks fans storming the stadium. :l (Did you catch the sarcasm?) How ridiculous is this?

Now, I may not have been the most avid Hawks fan, but I’ve always routed for the home team. I’ve been to a couple of games and no, they don’t pack out Phillips Arena like the Falcons fill the Georgia Dome, but you will still find a pretty good following. The Hawks rank 21st in the 30-team NBA, averaging 16,092 announced. It’s the continued low attendance rates that make owners want to sell.

So what does this mean? This means that if you are a true Hawks fan, and want them to stay in Atlanta, we all need to attend more games and show our spirit! I for one, don’t want to see them leave, so I will be at the next game.
