When you are in your apartment you want to feel like you are safe. A few tips to follow can help you maintain your safety in our apartments in Stockbridge, GA.

smoke detector

Make sure your smoke detector is in proper working order.

Smoke Detectors- Be sure to test your smoke detector at least once a month. Also, when you move in if you’re not sure how your specific model of smoke detectors works: ask!

Carbon Monoxide Detectors- A lot of smoke detectors now come equipped to sense carbon monoxide. If you don’t have a combination unit in your apartment you should have a separate carbon monoxide unit as well that you check along with your smoke detectors.

You can also purchase digital plug-in units that will give you precise carbon monoxide readings down to a very small amount.

Keep Your Door Locked- Never leave your apartment with the door unlocked. Even if you are just going to your car for a few minutes, always make sure to lock your door behind you.
