Eat at Pasta Max Cafe without maxing out your credit card
Italian food is one of my favorites. And since Italian is my heritage, I am very picky about the food I find in restaurants that claim to be homemade– because no place comes close to replicating my mother’s cooking.
So when I find an Italian establishment that meets or exceeds my expectations, it’s worth raving about to others.
Pasta Max Cafe is one of those restaurants that makes me do a double-take. Located in nearby McDonough, not too far from Southwinds Stockbridge, Pasta Max is a single-store joint that specializes in northern Italian dishes.
The pasta is fresh, the ingredients are fine, and my belly was happy. So was my wallet, come to think of it.
My favorite dishes were the crab cake appetizer– I can’t forget the lemon-basil butter sauce– and the green herb fazzoletti (pasta handkerchiefs) covered in a sausage ragu and fresh sage. It’s not often you find fazzoletti at an Italian restaurant, so I was impressed through and through.
Pasta Max Cafe also does catering for those large-scale events such as family reunions– Italian families call it a regular Tuesday night.
